I was training for a half marathon.  A couple of weeks before the race I started &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;having&lt;/span&gt; sharp pains in my ankle.  There was no doubt something was wrong.  The last thing I wanted to do was miss the race.  I had worked to hard to miss it because of an injury.  Plus, my &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;friends&lt;/span&gt; that were running with me would have been &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;disappointed&lt;/span&gt;.  Not to say they would not have understood.  After the race I ran one 5k and have not run over a mile since.  I miss running and I'm going to start &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;again&lt;/span&gt; this week.  Over the last month or so I have been walking, but it's just not the same.  My running buddy's want to start getting together &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;again&lt;/span&gt; and I will be joining them. Over those two years I have seen my ups and downs.  Unfortunately most of it has been unsuccessful.  I'm the type of person that reads everything they can on eating right and training right.  It all boils down to eating less and moving more.  When my eating is under control and I am hitting the pavement, I lose weight.  At one point I had lost 38 pounds.  I felt great!  In a small period of time I put it all back on.  I don't want to dwell in the past and from time to time I'll write about past failures but not now. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This blog is about a new &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;beginning&lt;/span&gt; or standing at the starting line &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;again&lt;/span&gt;.  At the starting line all I think about is doing my absolute best and no matter what happens out there, don't give up.  I am going to use this blog as a motivational tool.  Many weight lose advice sites recommend logging your workouts, food intake, and motivation.  When I think about eating poorly or deciding not to lace my shoes up I will simply go to this blog and remind myself of all the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;reasons&lt;/span&gt; why I decided to have the courage to start...&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;again&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have not &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;already&lt;/span&gt; noticed I am a John &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;Bingham&lt;/span&gt; fan.  He wrote a book called "The Courage To Start"  If you are interested in running or are simply looking for some motivation I highly &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;recommend&lt;/span&gt; it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The biggest problem I have with losing weight is that I &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;allow&lt;/span&gt; myself to make excuses.  NOT ANYMORE.
